Scotch Paint History
Scotch Paint was established in 1951 by Joe Mac Harg Sr. Joe started making paint in the garage of the family home for the housing industry that was mostly sold to neighborhood contractors. Over the years of prosperity, Joe was able to incorporate Scotch Paint in 1958. During Charlie's summer vacation away from high school he came aboard as the Vice President of outside sales was eventually able to purchase Scotch Paint Corp. After Joe’s retirement Charlie had to make some improvements to Scotch so he added Robert (Bob) Naversen as our chemist and things really started to roll! Paint and Sealers were improved and a store front was added to the building. Then we were off and running to NGPP meetings, trade shows and criss crossing the country promoting Draw Tite™ everywhere. But disaster struck when Charlie was in a near fatal car accident and everything stopped. After a lengthy recovery and finally back on his feet Charlie had some good luck come his way; Scotch started making paint for The Evr-Gard Coatings. Draw-Tite continues to sell nationally better than ever and Scotch Paint still continues to grow.
